Belgard Square West

Tallaght, Dublin 24
Client: Shelbourne Development Ltd
Area: 1 hectare
Date: 2006
Budget: €80 million

Belgard Square, at the heart of Tallaght Town Centre, is a mixed use development comprising 372 residential units, retail, leisure, crèche and restaurant uses. The key objective of the project is the integration of the development with the network of streets, pedestrian movement routes and public spaces contained in the ‘Urban Design Framework Plan’ prepared by South Dublin County Council.

At the head of the new street within the development stands a 13 storey residential tower. The tower acts as a significant landmark building. Its visibility over a wider context identifies not only the new public space and the development, within which it sits, but the wider urban initiatives and town centre development in Tallaght as a whole.
